The ingredients needed to prepare Apple barfi:
- Get 3 Apples big ( peeled and grated)
- Take half Lemon juice lemon juice of
- Provide 300 gms Khoya (mawa)
- Get 1 cup Milk
- Take ¾ cup Sugar (may vary according to sweetness prefered)
- Prepare ½ tsp Cardamom powder
- Get Pinch Saffron of
- Use 2 - 3 drops Rose essence
- Prepare 4 tbsps Ghee
- Prepare Almonds
- Take Pistachios
- Get Pinch Saffron of
Instructions to make Apple barfi:
- Mix the lemon juice to the grated apple.
- In a heavy bottom pan or kadhai, heat ghee.
- Add cardamom powder and grated apple, sauté on high heat for few mins. Stir well to avoid burning.
- Add khoya and milk, let it cook well till mixture starts leaving ghee. Stir occasionally.
- Add sugar, saffron and rose essence, mix well.
- Let it cook till the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture becomes thick and dry.
- Pour this mixture in a greased pan or cake tin.
- Garnish with slivered almonds, pistas and saffron strands.
- Refrigerate till set.
- Cut into squares or diamond shapes. Serve it.
