- Get 3/4 kg meat
- Take 2 cups rice
- Prepare 300 ml mala/natural yogurt
- Prepare 7 large potatoes halved

Steps to make Beef biriyani:
- Boil the meat till tender and set aside…
- In a large pan… Chop 4 of the onions and cook till browned and set aside….
- In a hot pan add oil and shallow fry the potatoes and set aside… You can add food color to the potatoes before frying
- Blend the remaining onions, tomatoes and hoho separately… If you don't have a blender… Grate finely
- In a sufuria, add in about 5tablespoons of oil and crushed garlic and ginger till cooked…
- Add in the boiled meat and mix evenly… Add in the blended onions… And cook till browned…
- Add in all the spices except the cinnamon sticks and cumin seeds.. And mix ensuring the meat is evenly coated
- Add in the blended tomatoes and fried potatoes…and half the browned cooked onions…
- Finally add in the mala and let it cook under medium heat for about 20-30min to thickens…
- For the rice,in a hot sufuria, add about 4tablespoons of oil… Once hot add the cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks and pilau masala… And salt to taste
- Cook for about two minutes… Add in the rice.. Mix ensuring it's coated with the spices..
- Add in four cups of water…..and cover letting it cook…
- Once cooked take a pinch of the food color and mix with about 2tablespoons of water… And sprinkle on the rice… And add the remaining cooked onions on the top
- Fluff the rice with a fork,to mix the onions in and the food color
- Serve the rice with the biriyani and enjoy while hot… I served with homemade cooked chilli sauce
