The ingredients needed to cook Apple Dumplings:
  1. You need 1 can crescent rolls (makes 8 rolls)
  2. Take 1 granny smith apple
  3. Prepare 1/2 stick butter (melted)
  4. Provide 3/4 cup sugar
  5. Use 1 tsp cinnamon
  6. Provide 2/3 cup mountain dew
Steps to make Apple Dumplings:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Core & peel apple. Cut into 8 wedges
  3. Roll each apple wedge in crescent dough, sealing edges. Place in 8x8 ungreased cake pan
  4. In small bowl, combine butter, sugar and cinnamon
  5. Spoon sugar mixture over dumplings
  6. Pour mountain dew on top of dumplings (gently, to not wash off sugar)
  7. Bake on middle rack, uncovered, for 45 minutes
  8. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving
    • I use the sugary liquid on bottom of pan to top each dumpling
    • I serve my dumplings warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream!
