The ingredients needed to prepare Layerd Ghugra (sathyachi karanji):
- Prepare For stuffing:
- Get 250 gms Dried coconut roasted
- You need 4 cups powder sugar homemade
- Take 2 tsp poppy seeds
- Take 1 cup wheat flour
- You need 2 tsp cardamom powder
- You need For cover:
- You need 2 cups maida
- Take 2 cups rava
- Provide 2 tsp ghee
- Prepare 2 tsp cornflour for making sata
- Get 3/4 cup dalda ghee for mohan
- Use As required Water for dough
- Use as required Oil or ghee for frying
Instructions to make Layerd Ghugra (sathyachi karanji):
- Firstly, dry roast dried coconut, wheat flour, poppy seeds. After cooling add cardamom powder, powder sugar and mix them all. Your stuffing is ready.
- Mix maida and rava add hot ghee (mohan)on it and mix it well and form dough. Set aside for 15 min.
- Then take dough and mash it. Then make balls of it and roll 3 rotis of it.
- For sata: Mix cornflour and ghee and mix it. Then take one roti, with a spoon spread little sata on it. They take 2 and roti and place it on 1 st roti. Apply some sata on it. Then take 3rd roti and place it on the 2nd one. Apply sata on it. Then gently make a roll of these 3 Rotis together..and make small parts of them with a knife.
- Press all parts as such that we can see the layers of it.
- Then roll one part just like puri. Fill the stuffing and make ghugra.
- Deep fry all ghugra in oil.
